If you take a look at the list of nominees, you'll notice that "older" folks actually far outnumber "younger" folks. Everyone is making these nominations, not just those of us in our 20s and 30s. I think this is much more about a slowly changing value system in our community in general, towards openness, inclusiveness, and grassroots initiatives. These values transcend age differences. (Just take a look at those Jews who use Twitter - I'm pretty sure that the vast majority of them are 35 and older!) These large organizations have lost touch with younger crowd. Glad to see they're acknowledging that change happens from the ground up and not vice versa. totally agree with you on this.
